why is there no Buzz
to me, the answer to that question is found in one word.
Apathy! The belief today that's sweeping the Christian Churches in our Country is inducing Apathy. there is no longer any fear of God preached, there is no longer any need for repentance.
The word Repentance has taken on a different meaning today, so has the word "Evangelical". I have attended different churches lately, and find that to be true in most churches.
Personally I was brought up in a Christian home, where God's word was revered, and studied faithfully. I accepted Christ at the age of 14 at a youth camp meeting. and I have been a supporter of Youth camps ever since. But it was not before many years later the The Love of Christ become real to me. I strongly believe there has to be a balance between Fear ,and The Love of God taught.. One does not put the cart in front of the horse, and the Cart goes nowhere without the horse.
it seems to me that the teaching today that's sweeping the church, is not teaching the Rapture anymore, Uncertainty of "when Christ's return is to be expected",is confusing the people, and from confusion comes Apathy.
So many scripture verses supports an imminent return of Christ.
Yet if that is not taught, How will people know and rejoice in that expectation? I personally see the possibility of His coming, at anytime now.As a believer I look forward to it,
world events changes so fast today, compared to a decade ago.
But at the same token I do not try to predict a time, as some do.

That's why we're talking about it!
I agree that the imminent return of Christ is missing from so much preaching and teaching today, and that is one of the reasons why we are talking about it this season. There are several things that Jesus talks about that are supposed to compel us to follow him:
All three are present in Jesus teaching about obedience and faith. And so, properly mixed together, we are motivated. The street-corner preacher that seeks to motivater through fear alone will fall short, as will the one who talks to the rich about heavenly reward (what do we need with that when we are doing so well right now!), as will the one who speaks of God's love without accountability.
