    Dear Partners,

Where to start? There is so much and we don’t want to overwhelm.

    01 Kathia

    Kathia

It began a few weeks back when the AHT got Kathia to safety in Madrid. Upon the return, a few days later, the team got a call from another woman in distress, this time it was a young Romanian who had only been in Spain for 3 weeks. The team had met her two days earlier in a routine street visit. The call came asking to please help her get out. The team moved and in no time Julia was off to Madrid. She was placed in a different home from where Kathia was. Julia had a story to tell as do all the girls, sad, but we were glad to be able to be there for her to help in her escape.

    03 Dulce

    Dulce

Then another call came, we thought “what is going on”? One of the long-term Nigerian contacts, Dulce, wanted out and had worked out a deal with her captives. AHT got involved and negotiations began, two days of tension, sleepless nights and a lot of stake out time only to find out that they just wanted to squeeze more money from Dulce. Her brother has been kidnapped in Nigeria and as far as we know is still captive. We have tried to get people involved in  Nigeria and await information. Please pray for Dulce and her family.

But it does not end here. In the midst of this, we got a call from a Bulgarian, Emilia, “Please come get me now…” Emilia was in a panic, shaken – an obvious relief when we took her to our church building. Her pimp (boyfriend) threatened to kill her if she tried to escape. That night she was moved to the city of Murcia to be transported to Madrid the next day. Then came the communication in the middle of the night, “I am back in Torrevieja, I’m okay.” Later we found that her family was threatened in Bulgaria and Emilia felt she had no choice but to return to her abuse.

We are sad to see the intimidation under which these women live. We feel so helpless, so we pray and ask you to please continue praying.

    02 Julia

    Julia

    04 Emilia

    Emilia

VBS is June 30-July3rd in the Torrevieja church so we are very much focused on that.

Pease pray for Rosa, the woman who accepted Christ recently. The devil is really sifting her. Pray for strength and perseverance on her part.

    Working together with HIM,

    Restrepo’s
